Words from Our Patients

I wanted to express my appreciation to you for reviewing my medical file as a possible candidate for cryoablation.

Even though I decided to have conventional surgery, the information that you, your staff and website provided was helpful for me to take a confident decision for my treatment.
Allison from your staff was knowledgeable and very patient in answering my questions at a time that was emotional and filled with anxiety.

Your staff evidently follows your lead in promoting a positive and kind atmosphere for your patients.
Thank you for your time.

“After I found out I had a lump, I was worried about how I would look if anything needed to be done. I checked with some doctors in Singapore, where I live now, and none of them could give me good answers. Especially bad was one doctor who showed me bloody pictures of patients during and after surgery. Depressed, I moved onward. My husband found Dr. Holmes through my O.B. back home. We had a conference call about my case. Dr. Holmes and his staff worked very hard to arrange to have the biopsy and surgery within one week, to accommodate us. When I saw Dr. Holmes, he answered all my questions. He did not promise there would be no scar, but he said, he would try. The result is that even I cannot find the spot where the surgery was. It was worth flying all the way from Singapore to L.A. to see Dr. Holmes.” – Y.Q.

“I was in the military for 2 years as a radio operator. While I was in the military I found a lump in my right breast, they did a biopsy but I never got the results. Fast forward years later; I was diagnosed with breast cancer in the same area where the biopsy was done. There is no family history of breast cancer in my family, so I was curious as to how I contracted this dreadful disease. I checked my military records and found Walter Reed Medical Center and Boston University did a study on women in the military with breast cancer is significantly higher and that military women are 20% to 40% more likely to get the disease than other women in the same group, and they found out that breast cancer is linked to men and women working as radio operators, electricians, and telephone repair people on other jobs involving exposure to electromagnetic radiation. Once I found out about the study I file a claim with the VA in 2014 regarding my breast cancer with it being service connected. After they did their research they stated it was not service connected. I want to file an appeal stating it was service connected. They said they need evidence that by breast cancer is service connected. I need to get a professional opinion and examination that my breast cancer is service connected. They stated if I can get an examination and it’s a 50% chance that the breast cancer is service connected they will open up the claim again. If you know of anyone that can do some genetic testing; are any kind of examination to confirm that my breast cancer is service connected. Your kindness is greatly appreciated. Thanking you in advance for your valuable time.” – L.D.
